WHAT is Nature Academy?
Whilst enjoying the outdoors, and participating in creative and social learning, we help adults develop Eco Literacy & Nature Based Thinking & Solutions.
Half the time is spent Experiencing Nature: exploring a local natural environment and interacting with natural materials; half the time will be spent at an indoor or outdoor classroom Learning Nature Based skills, terminology and ideas that improve personal, corporate and planetary wellness.
WHO is Nature Academy for?
Nature Academy is for adults, corporations and groups of adults ( like clubs, non profits and associations) that want to learn Nature Based methods for personal and organisational thriving and growth, coupled with Nature Based programming that creates knowledge, stimulates creativity, and increases social bonding as solutions for an increasingly urbanised and environmentally challenged world.
HOW we developed Nature Academy
We broadened foundational ideas for developing basic Eco Literacy adding more nuance and sophistication with new ideas about Biophilia, emerging data about health impacts of urbanisation and new personal, corporate and global responsibilities in sustainability and environmentalism. We reviewed new and successful strategies from cities, countries and corporations responding to new demands of urbanisation, climate change and personal, organisational and corporate responsibility
Our team members have experience in teaching adults in both both casual, recreational and formal corporate settings - we combine both to develop knowledge building, creativity and communication skills whilst increasing personal growth, social bonding and team building.
WHY we developed Nature Academy
New challenges, ideas and technologies are advancing at an increasing pace. Nowadays, sustainability and eco-consciousness are not just values but imperative actions. Fundamental to the understanding of this fast changing world is the language, vocabulary and concepts that describe both the problems and also the solutions required. Adults, Corporate employees and Organisational members are also required in an information rich, digital age in a changing and complex, new social order to be knowledgeable about communicating values (personal, corporate and organisation), creating content for social media and managing an online presence. We teach these skills through a Nature Based lens.
Participants also learn how informed choices utilising Nature based Thinking & Solutions can impact their lives at home and work and more broadly on society and the environment. When adults are personally thriving, companies and society also enjoy increased levels of economic success.
